1. Budget & Location

My budget is around $4k. I'm in the US.

2. Aim

I'm going to be primarily gaming (playing anything from Cube World to NMS, Star Citizen, etc.) so I want great frames, even at 2k. I would like 4k but I don't really think its necessary for this build and from what I've read and watched, 2k gaming should be just fine. I play the occasional competitive FPS so I'm looking for great response times and no screen tearing. I like RGB and I've received some feedback on Reddit that the mismatch of RGB components/brands means I'll end up with non-synced RGB and/or multiple different pieces of software to control the LEDs.

3. Monitors

Just 1. See build plan below.

4. Peripherals

I will need to build keyboard and mouse but I can get those on my own.

5. Why are you upgrading?

First build since 2007. Build plan below! Let me know what you think. Thank you!

A fairly good PC doesn't cost more than $1500, you really start losing value past that. Maybe just look at the rest of your set up and upgrade some of that? Otherwise just buy some stock?

Or do a custom water cooling loop in an 011 dynamic? You'd want a reference RX 5700/XT for that.

You don't need 32GBs of RAM for gaming, and it's going to be harder or much more expensive to hit high memory clocks which can help with your fps.

Included a 1440p 120hz ultra wide.

It's also pretty pointless to get a platinum or titanium PSU, performance isn't going to change much past gold.

Theres not much to really say about it, its a balanced current gen high end build with good part choices. I was trying to figure out how you managed to get any single gpu system to add up to nearly 4k usd but then noticed the monitor and drive.

My only suggestions would be that for the price of the seasonic focus line, you might as well just spend the extra 30-40$ on the prime titanium rated line.

https://www.newegg.com/seasonic-prime-ultra-titanium-ssr-750tr-750w/p/N82E16817151197

180 with a rebate if you felt like doing rebates, for a 4000$ build thats not a large price difference and gets you pretty much the best of the best as far as power supplies go.

You are going to have cooler master RGB, corsair rgb and gigabyte rgb which might not all work together. I know some stuff is inter-compatible but you will likely have out of sync lighting if you wanted anything more than static colors. Bit of proprietary bs really...

It wont be the worst and it would be nearly unnoticeable on your average "glow" type of settings where everything is kinda random colors anyway. Might be worth looking into an the corsair H150i rgb instead of the cooler master 360. Its corsairs 360mm aio and it would be compatible with the case rgb, so then you'd only have corsair and gigabytes rgb to try and sync together.

Thanks for taking the time to look it over @Genwyn. I really appreciate the suggestions and will definitely consider it. I think I will upgrade the PSU to their Titanium line. I liked the CM AIO because of the included RGB Fans and RGB pump that has the "cap" that can be rotated, for aesthetic reasons of course. I could totally switch to the Corsair AIO, but it looks like no RGB Fans (included at least). I wonder if I could swap those out for RGB fans.

I'm not really looking for a custom loop or an ultra wide display. Thanks for the suggestion about the RAM tho! I wasn't sure exactly how much I needed and might've went overboard with 32 GB.

Then maybe grab a 1080p 240hz display if your sole focus is gaming. They're like $250 max

$4k is a huge budget but you shouldn't be wasting it going overboard on most of the things. Here are my thoughts about this

1. Will get an ASUS Motherboard, much better firmware.

2. You won't benefit from the more expensive 3600MHz cas 16 kit if only gaming is your concern and the very narrow difference that it makes isn't noticeable in real world performance. Also 16GB is more than enough for gaming.

3. 970 Pro is a waste of money. For Gaming only the Sabrent Rocket is just as fast with similar load times in games and cost 1/3rd the price. The 970 Pro is more of a thing for professional video editors who need real fast storage and tend to work with huge file sizes.

4. Spending $350 on the same card just to get the wated cooled one isn't a wise idea. Also you sure you wan't dual rads in your build??

5. A very similar looking case the 570X RGB is $90 cheap.

6. 650W Gold Certified Corsair RMx is more than enough.

7. Can spend $120 more on the Monitor and get something that has G-Sync.

All that said, here is a recommended build
