I plan on getting the asrock x399m taichi board for threadripper which is a mATX board and in the future plan on upgrading to a openloop cooler and was wondering if the asrock x399 monoblock is compatible with the taichi x399m board which is the microatx version of the asrock taichi x399 board which the monoblock was made for.

Why microATX for threadripper exactly? I have one and it's not been the best for memory overclocking, not sure how much blame I should put on my 1950X.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

What CPU are you trying to get for it? and are you going to fill the board with NVME SSDs?

As a 3900X is a good deal faster than the $199 1920X if that's what you were going for. especially with it's 3600mhz memory support.

There's also some compact ATX cases like the Q500L, it's only good for air cooling though.
