I'm looking to grab a psu to finish off my build and i would like it to be  fully modular as I'm planning on buying some custom coloured cables. I would prefer if the psu  stayed within the $100-$150AUD price range

Get some 3600mhz RAM

100% just grab an RX 5700 and flash the bios to the XT, then it has like 95% of the XT's performance. Use the saved cash to like do a hybrid water cooling mod on it or something, for some reason aftermarket cards are really expensive in AUS.

Otherwise just grab some 550W or above gold unit from one of the big names it'll probably be fine.

Takes less than 5 minutes, do you have any kind of old graphics card around? Or can you find an after market card like a sapphire pulse for a decent price? that has Dual Bios mostly, in case of the very rare failure that you'd need to recover from, but it's generally safe, I already flashed my 5700.

You just download ATI flash, and grab the XT bios of the card from Tech Power Up's GPU database.

This is my first build so I don't have another parts. I could try looking for someone selling theirs online if I need it

It's very unlikely to fail unless the power gets yanked for some reason. At worse you can just borrow a GPU from a friend or local PC shop of some kind.

A dual bios card can just recover itself, but I have no idea why they're so expensive over there.

Alright sweet, I'll check it out then if it isn't that hard. Also what was this hybrid water cooling mod, you were talking about before and do I need it cause I was planning on doing a custom liquid cooling loop a few months down the track once it's all set up could it just wait till I do that?

Probably don't bother flashing if you end up with a card that only has a single bios and no 2nd GPU to recover with, just an FYI.

Ended up needing to flash my RX 5700 3 times because I didn't follow the instructions the first time. Mine's dual bios so recovery is easy.
