Hi!

Detailed explanation: (for context)

I just moved into a building where I cannot have access to the router settings. Unfortunately, all ports (other than the classic HTTP/S etc) are closed. UPnP is disabled as well. This results in me not being able to connect to my Raspberry Pi from outside of my network (or even ssh from inside the network if I don't have it connected directly to my laptop). I'm trying to figure out what should I do to bypass these limitations if even possible. The bare minimum would simply be connecting to my RPi through WiFi. Earlier this week I had an idea that would involve a WiFi extender/repeater/whatever that would be connected to the main network, but my laptop would be connected to the sub network, which would have the ports I want open. See diagram if unclear. I have no idea if it would even work and which one I should buy etc. Maybe there are other solutions that I'm not even thinking about. This of course would only solve the problem locally and I still wouldn't be able to connect to it from outside.

Summary:

The problem:

  • I can't change the router settings
  • All ports on the network all closed
  • Can only connect to RPi when directly linked with ethernet

I would like to:

  • Minimum: Access my RPi from my laptop through the WiFi locally
  • Ideal: Access my RPi from anywhere

Ideas:

  • Use WiFi extender/repeater...

All ideas are welcome!

Thanks
