Looking for a phone that can be used for programming

Currently I have the original Pixel which I like very much, but performance hasn't been great lately without using Franco's Kernel on high performance which eats up battery. The screen just got cracked slightly, so I thought I'd start looking a getting a new phone.

I'd like to use phone more for programming/writing so ideally it would have a physical keyboard with symbols on it. I generally don't use a desktop/laptop outside of work, but I like to do some light programming/web development/writing which works on a typical smartphone, if not a little annoying at times.

It doesn't have to be a brand new phone, but ideally it would support a more recent version of android (maybe 6+), have a decent battery, and of course a keyboard. It only needs to be performant enough to run web browser, ssh client, Podcast Addict, and Markor. I don't see any other features as necessary. I'd probably strip out any unnecessary features from my Pixel and keep it nearby for taking photos and uploading to Google Photos (love that free full-res storage).

If anyone has any suggestions I'd be happy to hear it.

Thanks!

Other than Blackberry Priv or Blackberry Passport or some sort of detachable keyboard case, I don't think you're gonna get better experience than touchscreen keyboard (to be fair, with Priv/Passport it won't be any better most of the time).

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.

I didn't consider a keyboard case, that might be the best solution and would open the pool of devices greatly. The main reason for physical keyboard was because otherwise it takes up so much of the screen, and flipping to the different symbols '{}', '()', '[]', '<>', etc gets very tedious at times.

Then small keyboards will be even more of a tedious stuff, so try it out first... I'd also suggest some foldable keyboards unless you want to do it on-the-go like while you're walking.

My fingers are pretty nimble, so I'm not too concerned about size, at least if it's portrait. Landscape would definitely be fine. I'll probably have to really consider it further if it's worth it or not. I had a blackberry a while ago, and I enjoyed having the symbol keys so accessible.
