8700k non delidded 5Ghz 1.29v

I'm wondering if I will be able to reach 5.2ghz non delidded with my 8700k while keeping it under 1.4v

I have achieved a stable 8700k  non delidded 5Ghz 1.29v using intelburntest and max temps were 78c

I use Kraken x72 cooler.

Any advice on 5.2ghz?

Isn’t like 5ghz the most common stable top considering temps? Yes depending on silicon etc but 5.2ghz seems something you’d need. Lot more cooling for

Considering your temps are getting high, I'd say be happy with that you have instead of pushing it to nuclear reactor territory

If the 8700k is like the i7 8086k there is no performance gain at 5.1, 5.2 or 5.3.  It just looks kool.

The only bench that is higher is Cinebench single core score(218 to 222) at 5.1.

 

Right now I have one of my i7 8086ks at 5.1. It producers 1c more heat than 5ghz so I leave it on.

 

This is the video that stopped me going to 5.2.

delid, 1.4v is hard to cool.
