Coming over from a 2014 Macbook Pro and looking to put together a build for roughly $1500-2000 that will be primarily used for video (1080p and 4K) and photo editing (Photoshop, Lightroom, and likely Premiere). music production (FL Studio), and with very occasional gaming (PubG). I have a monitor and was going to originally grab a 3900x but I've missed stock a couple times and am tired of waiting for it to be available. From what I've gathered, a 9900k or 3700x would be the next alternative but I'm unsure as to which would be best. Pretty overloaded on information at the moment so any guidance/build suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Sorry, yes I'm in the US (California and not near Microcenter sadly, lol). My monitor is a LG 27UL500-W (also open to suggestions if there's a better value there).

That monitor should be fine, mostly just want 100% sRGB for basic stuff, which almost every IPS/VA display should be able to do.

Otherwise it's less than $1400 for a solid PC. Just add a 2TB/4TB hard drive maybe.

Dunno why that case is out of stock everywhere, were you going to order the PC really soon?

The i9-9900K is going to have better performance than the 3700X in Photoshop and Premiere Pro. It will also outperform the 3900X handling H.264 / H.265. (The 3900X is better with RED.)  It is of course significantly more expensive than the 3700x.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
