I want to build a Computer and have it's home in my garage. I would use it as music and video while out there. Would a water cooled system hold up to this? I live in Florida by the way and no the garage does not have AC.. I currently have a laptop out there with a fan blowing on it constantly but it still warms up, could this be a topic for a youtube video/build? any and all suggestions are welcome

Looking to build maybe a Ryzen 7 new build or I have an i7 with a motherboard  and 16g ddr4 setting here that I could use, I also have an old server but I tried that and it was sorta loud.

My main use would be research and videos and a file server... but I would like to edit photos and ingest raw files and feed them to my NAS in the den.It would also be on 24/7 with its own battery backup.

thanks for your time and wisdom

What do you actually want do? If you are planning to use the i7 and the motherboard with 16 gigs of ram and you are going to grab rest of the components used so tell us what is available near you for the prices and we will tell you what to go for. Or you have a budget in your mind that you are willing to spend for this garage build. Also are there any components that you will be using from the current build like storage and other stuff?

I don't think water cooling will be necessary. A good air cooler will do the job ?

Water cooling is tricky. You need to flush and refill the coolent frequently and there are always some chances of leakage.

I'll recommend a good air cooler. Something like a nh d15 or dark rock pro4. Thermalright le grand macho rt is also an option for less.

I am mainly concerned with the cooling of the computer in the garage, making sure that power/cpu/mb/gpu/hdds would not die in the heat of the garage...$$ is not exactly the issue ($1000 if you want a limit but less is better within reason) or a detailed build list( but open to Ryzen 7 options ;) ) but mainly I don't want to fry anything and would like to have it work reliably. So any power combos, or is certain coolers working better in the heat of a garage?? Thermal paste types... any certain type better in the heat than others?

Just trying to get more 'eyes' on this so if I am forgetting or just not thinking about any issues that might cook (literally ) my computer.

Also dust is a concern... so this is why water cooling came to mind, but filters might work just need to change often. Any cases recommended for this type of work? High airflow? Sealed?

I am in Tampa Area so almost any links will work for any suggested builds

I am interested in a Ryzen 7 Build (need 16 or 32 gb ram) also need High speed USB and NIC on the MB , and a good 22 or 24 in monitor with great color accuracy(adobe color space) but worried about heat and power consumption, I will have 3 SSDs and 2 8TB drives in this build(already bought the 8TB)

any other info I need to supply? I was looking more for the general ideas of cooling solutions but if someone would show me a build then I am all eyes...lol

thanks again for the effort and help with this project

dark rock pro4 seems like a good option.. just watched a Jay2cents video on it and seemed well cooled on a Ryzen 9 thanks for the info!!
