Since iOS 13 will have SMB support can access my freenas box on it?

Maybe its just me disbelief that apple would listen to suggestions and a file system to the iphone but since iOS 13 will have SMB support i can access friles on my freenas box and even watch videos stored on it?

I mean vlc on ios could do this already, so yea.

I haven't set up my plex server yet and my family usually doesn't like giving them tech suggestions so until i get plex up it will be through files.

just setup plex. Super simple, then you can watch from a web browser or app.

well i'm at college right now and i would still need to ingest all of movies and tv shows onto the server first.

But isn't everything is already on the server? Since you alluded to watching files stored on the server. At which point, you just have to point Plex at the directory where the files exist.

I only have star wars the clone wars and rebels in chronological order on there. the current server was actually meant for music/sonos
