I have more or less narrowed down my parts list and have come up with this list of specs -

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/CrySis.Lex/saved/mmvFGX -

Its price is slightly more on pc part picker and is actually £579 including shipping etc. The computer's uses are - gaming, live course work and light/mid adobe suite and cad work. All opinions, thoughts etc are welcome especially about the psu and case.

All help is great! Thanks in advance,

Lex.

i'd recommend a cheaper B450 gaming plus and use the money saved for a 1660.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

ill have a look into buying a 1660 but i am on a tight budget for this rig and want to have both overclocking room for the cpu (board needs to have good vrms) and adaptability if i choose to upgrade to a more recent cpu. I would rather not go down the route of the rx590 even with its cheap price since i have some cuda accelerated work loads.

Any recommendations for a full size 1660 that is no more than £190 (thats pushing it :D)

Ty for the help,

Lex.

the gaming plus has the same VRMs as the tomahawk with a different heatsink, and it doesn't take much to oc a 2600 anyway.

My reason for looking into the quality of the vrms is for when i upgrade the cpu to something more recent. The 2600 can rlly be oced on just about any board xD.

Ill take a look at the gaming plus now,

Thanks for the help,

Lex . :D

Just looked at the gaming plus and it only has two ram slots - i do plan to upgrade to 4 sticks of 8gb 3200mhx cl16 a few months after i build the system. Also its a micro atx which has its limits case wise when buying cheap.

Thanks :D,

Lex.
