Can play in 4k, but cant watch any 4k movies

Hi, so i connected my PC to my samsung ue55nu7023 4k tv. I can game at 4k just fine with 90-100 fps so my hdmi works fine.

But when i try to watch a movies it starts to lagg so much, like in vlc every 5 sec 1 frame, i can hear every sound.

Tried vlc (3.0.2), MPC-HC, Windows Media Player, Movies+TV. MPC-HC was the best with 1 fps at most.

What am i doing wrong...?

as soon as i start playing vidoes my gpu goes 100% but my cpu stays at 10% at max.

That's weird, the RX570 should easily handle 4K playback, it's the CPU that would have a hard time. Are you doing other stuff on the GPU at the same time? I haven't used VLC in ages, but you could have some wack settings in there.

Whats the Framerate of the video and at what Bitrate? AMD's Video Decoder sucks but it should be able to play 4K30FPS Videos just fine

Nope, nothing else, only a single movie at a time.yeah my cpu is kinda weak, but still it doesnt reach 80% so i guess it should be fine.

i just reinstalled vlc, still doesnt work.

That's weird.. are your drivers updated?

didnt realize i have to play the movie to see the bitrate, it jumps between 3.000-80.000.

edit

yep gpu is up to date, but i mean everything should be good because i just played at 4k, that should be a lot harder then just playing some movie at 4k....

Well that is very odd, have you tried a different 4K video file? Does a 1080p play ok?

There are some 4K demos files here https://4kmedia.org/

How does 4K Youtube look?

Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling videos drivers?
