XMP 2.0 GSkill DDR4 Problem | Ryzen 3600 | ASRock B450M Steel Legend

i've just bought a Ryzen 3600 and the ASRock B450m Steel Legend Mobo to upgrade my gaming rig, with that i use my old Ripjaws V 3000 DDR4 8GB×2.

 

Now it runs on dual channel and every XMP 2.0 Profile up to 2933mhz works fine but it stops working on the 3000mhz setting, i basically get a black screen and no BIOS access. I have no clue on how to get my frequency to 3000mhz..is there even a way to make that happen? Seems to me like there isn't a way since every other option under 3000 works fine

So if they work fine under 3k, then go with the fastest setting that doesn't break.

but still.. the ram is rated for 3000mhz.. it should run at the XMP profiel right...

Nooop. Steel legend is garbage with memory.

Oh I meant the ram. Yeah havent heard good things about the steel legend, wasnt ware how far it affects the memory

@Suri412 unfortunately from experience I can tell you that the steel legend seems to refuse to go above 2933 across the board, I had a similar experience when I had mine
