i3-7100 or i5-6402p

Currently I am running an i3-7100 which supports 2400mhz d4 ram. Is it worth for me to swap it with i5-6402p which supports 2133 mhz d4 ram? This rig is mainly for gaming, therefore does the performance gained from using the i5 outweights the reduced ram speed performance in gaming? What kind of situation would the i3 with 2400 mhz ram speed be worth to be used?

 

I know this sounds silly, but im out of thermal paste. To make up for it, I hope my question could spark a bit of a discussion.
