Hey, can someone out there with a overclocked r5 1600 tell me their oc settings? just the mhz and voltage. I don't want something insane or extreme, maybe something like 3.6 because im just on the stock cooler. also, ive heard that lowering the voltage will make the cpu last longer, is that true? and if so, should i be not overclocking or just overclocking and trying to get the voltage as low as possible? thanks

My old R5 1600 did 3.8Ghz at 1.35V on stock cooler.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

Don't worry about underclocking to preserve its life. At stock settings it'll last well over 10+ years. Even a good Overclock I'm confident these chips will last well over 10 years. There's still a ton of users out there who still rock the FX series chips with an agressive overclock. Every setup is different so I recommend just tweaking it yourself and see what works

Intel Core i7 9700F / Cooler Master 212 Evo / GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER / 16 GB G.SKILL RAM @ 2666MHz / GA-B365M-DS3H / EVGA 500w PSU

HP Pavilion Gaming 15 / Ryzen 5 4600H / GeForce GTX 1050 / 8 GB @ 3200MHz

I got 3.8GHz with ~75c temps under full load without modifying the voltage.

I used the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo RGB Black edition. It's 30$ and a great buy in my opinion, though I have heard that the prices for it are climbing. You should be good if you have microcenter access though

Current PC (Second Build) : CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (OC @3.8GHz, sometimes pushed to 4GHz) RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-2666 (OC @2733Mhz, sometimes pushed to 2800 for testing purposes)   GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX570 8gb MOBO: ASRock B450m Pro4 SSD: Inland 120gb HDD: 1tb Seagate Barracuda PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 500w Lite Case: NZXT H500 OS: Arch Linux+ KDE Plasma [Desktop Environment] & Windows 10 Pro [Broken due to grub 50% of the time]

Accessories: Mouse: Alienware AW958 Elite Keyboard: Corsair K63 Wireless  Headphones: Samsung Level On Pro

Phone (waiting on arrival): Samsung Galaxy Note 9

since its just a stealth cooler, you shall see high 70s to 80C at 1.35V(try 1.3v if your chip is good), target at 3.8ghz or lower for long term use

Generally what you should do is ramp up the voltage and frequency and after you get a stable clock just start dialing the voltage down. CPU temps you are looking for are about 75-80 on a stress test such as AIDA64 (These are very unrealistic usage scenarios and your cpu will never reach that temperature in gaming or doing something else).

@dgsddfgdfhgs

It's actually the wraith spire, its like the upgraded version of the stealth. So yeah I guess I'll try like 3.8 and stress test, but if it gets too toasty I'll bring it down to 3.6 and see what v I can get.

Also, is there any free good stress tests out there for me to use?

old spire is taller & copper camber inside , which was removed from ryzen 3000 series

cinebench gives the fastest test result on max temp

aida 64 for stability

asus one looks fine to me , worth a try

I got mine to 4ghz with a +.165v offset, usually hangs around high 1.3xv

Haven't given it heavy stability but it's just a living room gamer PC so it doesn't have to be that solid.

@@chi_chi_ here's mine, but i settled at default clock speeds because i didn't noticed any changes while i'm gaming. and i can still run games at reasonable settings.

If you really want to OC your chip, you can settle on 3.8hgz with 1.270v, which i used for a month before going back to stock speeds.
