What the frick is "Dynamic Super Resolution" - Asus PG278Q

Good evening ladys n gentlemen,

I have a question about something in the Nvidia control panel.
I currently use the Asus PG278Q and out of the box it has GSync, 144Hz and is 2650x1440, the one thing I never understand is, that in the resolution tab I can select between "2560x1440 (native)" and all the lower resolutions like 1920x1440 and so on. But the thing is, I can also select "3620x2036 (2.00x)" which is kinda weird cuz its just a WQHD Display. And the weirdest thing is that I cant find the resolution 3620x2036 anywhere, it isnt even listed in the wikipedia entry about Resolutions (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bildauflösung , its a german link because the english ones I found werent as detailed as this one is).

I would really appreciate it if someone is able to answer my questions.

That feature allows you to run the game at a higher res than your monitor supports, and then downscale to match the native res of the monitor.  It's an expensive but effective way to brute force some anti-aliasing into any title.  Obviously the higher res, the better, but it offers a variety of options, some of them being common like 3840 x 2160, and others, like the one you are seeing, are not so common.  AMD also offers this under the name VSR (virtual super resolution).  I'm not sure about nvidia but I know the AMD one allows you to run this even outside games on the Windows desktop itself to effectively drop to 50% scaling for a very pixelated and small but spacious experience

do you think its worth turning it on? (got a 1080Ti) 
I most of the time only play games.

If you can run it without dropping under the framerate you want or sacrificing other settings then you may as well, but if you have to give up something else for it it's probably not worth it.
