Display port monitor not used on startup

Hi guys. I'm currently running dual displays, a dell monitor over HDMI and a MSI gaming monitor over displayport connected to my GTX970. The issue im having is that when i boot my computer, my MSI monitor is not given a signal until i turn it off and on again, whereas my dell monitor doesnt have an issue. Ive tested the MSI monitor over DP and HDMI solo, without the dell monitor, and upon boot, it does receive a signal right away. I cant seem to figure it out and it is annoying to have to turn if off and on again every single time. Could someone please advise on a solution? I have been told that this may be a potential display port cable issue, however i dont currently have another one to test out with. I am using the display port cable that came with the monitor

Your cable is probably the issue. You can buy a cable online for cheap. Try moving the cable and see if you get a signal

I do get a signal after turning the monitor on a off again once the computer has been fully booted up. I can also get a signal by unplugging and plugging it back in

@Bananamcfly Plug the monitor in befor the PC and switch the PC on later. Does it change from no signal to power saving ?

I think it may be going into power saving, but im not sure as the monitor's no signal message doesnt usually last very long
