if I upgrade to 1440p it will still have enought power with the 5700xt , wondering if the cpu could hold it back for high refresh in 1080 what do you guys think?

Do you already own the hardware?

I wouldn't really upgrade from 1080p 144hz to just 1440p 144hz.

Depends the title, some games just won't help getting to 144hz no matter what you do...

Then what's the budget/country for the PC and everything?

If you play a lot of fps games I'd get a 1080p 144hz or 240hz display.

If you mostly play story driven games/MMOs I'd just grab a 4k 60hz display.

Or get a 1440p 100hz ultrawide if you have $400 to spend on it.

United States. i play lots of fps games. id get 1440p 144hz before id get 4k. my main question is could the 3600 potentially hold back the 5700xt in 1080p. But the budget is around like 1000, but i already have a psu and hard drives.

It's only like 5-10% behind the 9900K

I'd go for a 240hz monitor then, they're pretty cheap, and esports games will run at 200fps or more.

Just get 3600mhz memory with low timings to go with it.

i watched some of that and i saw that its not too bad to just get 3600 cl 17-18. its REALLY expensive to get low latency high freq to the point its not really worth it what do you think.

also forgot to mention i already have a 144hz 1080p panel

3600 CL18 is pretty cheap for what it is.

I wouldn't bother upgrading to only a 1440p 144hz display then, it's not a major increase in sharpness. Save up for like a 1440p 100hz ultrawide maybe, they're around $400.

The RX 5700 non XT is likely the way to go, a lot of cards just came back in stock including the sapphire pulse.
