Hey, so, I am planning on building my first gaming PC from scratch. I'm going to mainly be using it for gaming, with a focus of future upgradeability in case I need to update it in the future. Going to be running it on a single monitor for now. My current build is an i5 4590, a GTX 1050 TI 4gb, and 8gb of DDR3 RAM. I frequently run into bottlenecks associated with RAM as 8gb of DDR3 is just not enough for games like GTA 5 and Arma 3 nowadays, at least with my current computer.

I thought I'd ask what do you guys think of the parts? Is my selection good? Anything you would change personally? Appreciate the advise, thanks! :)

CPU: Ryzen 3200G

GPU: The 1050ti from my current build. It does it's job and so I have no need to change it currently :)

PSU: CX550M, 550w. Not sure if this is overkill, so would appreciate some feedback :D

RAM: 4x4gb Team Group Delta RGB DDR4 3000mhz

Motherboard: Gigabytye B450 Aorus Elite

Case: Aerocool Rift

Once again, thanks for any feedback :)

The cx500 is enough. Also get 2x16gb not 4x4 because you will occupy all slots by doing that.

Keep in mind that 32gb of ram is too overkill for gaming. You should be happy with 16gb.

Won't it be better if I occupy all slots though? I've heard that sometimes it's better to occupy all of the slots instead of one or two, but I'm not sure if that applies for this motherboard.

Most motherboards do better with 2 slots vs 4, but it's a slight thing only an issue in the rarest cases (like trying to OC 2 sticks vs 4).  Go 2x8 to leave yourself room to grow IMO.

If you're using a dedicated GPU, look into a better yet older CPU.  Like a Ryzen 1600 or 2600.

My suggestion is:

CPU:R5 2600

Mobo: The same you have chosen

Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200mhz (2x8gb)

Storage: 240gb ssd

PSU: Cx500

Case: Whatever you like as long as it is under $40.

No, your pc wont perform better if you occupy all 4 slots.

Are there any downsides to getting a gen 1 ryzen like a 1600/2600 versus a 3200g?

the 3200G isn't much different from the i5 you have in performance, see if you can get at least a 1600.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
