Intel HD Grahpics on laptop affecting performance

Hi guys,

I have a Precision 5520 Dell Laptop with i7 7820HQ 2.9ghz 16 gb of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA Quadro M1200, when I am playing or working... with heavy applications the Intel GPU is creating a bottleneck in my system, I had monitored CPU, RAM and Both GPUs while playing and I found that from time to time (every 15 mins aprox) the intel GPU is at 100% of usage with processes such as "Desktop Window Manager", "Client server runtime process". While this happen the game and in general the whole system is running really slow, even when the CPU is at 25% RAM less than 50% and Nvidia GPU at 25-30%.

I already tried to change the settings on the Nvidia Control panel to use always NVIDIA GPU but my system keeps using the GPU for many applications. Is there any solution? or does anyone else has the same problem?

those process could be doing things they shouldn't do. Try reinstalling the OS.

Also it seems like your laptop has Nvidia Optimus, which means the Nvidia GPU is connected to the monitor through the intel iGPU. In other words, even if the iGPU is bottlenecking, there isnt much you can do.
