I’m using the ASUS ROG display at 165hz, I would say that the pixel density is way more delightful than a 1080p display, I actually don’t believe you would see any difference in smoothness to 165/240hz.

If you not playing some hardcore formula1 cars games that is super high phased!

If you play a lot of first person shooter games get the 240hz display.

I'd also suggest that you buy an RX 5700, which has like 80% of the 2080's performance at almost half the price.

And don't buy a G-sync display, as there are free-sync displays with similar panel types at half the price.

I was going to suggest an ultra wide but they're really overpriced on the UK part picker for some reason.

27" or 32" are the decent monitor options looks like.

Why not a 5700XT, that trades blows with the 2070 Super, which is like 90%+ of the 2080's performance, and will push 1440p144/165 much better?

The 1440p 165Hz hands down. The difference between 165Hz and 240Hz is negligible, but the difference between 1080p and 1440p is very noticeable. Plus, you have an Nvidia card so G-Sync would be more beneficial to you. Also, the Alienware is a TN panel so yeah it's got wicked fast refresh rate, but color accuracy and viewing angles will suffer because of it.

If your wallet can afford it, get the Asus one.
