Just an FYI, 2G is going to die by mid-2020 or early 2021 with 3g following soon behind that with all major carriers ending support of 3g service by roughly 2022. On top of that 2G is roughly 80Kbps of speed so you might as well not even count that as connected for anything by text based browsing.

 

Ting is another provider, I know they've advertised on the WAN show or some LTT videos before, I used them for a bit and they were decent. FreedomPop is another one that comes to mind as well

If you have a compatible phone, and live in the US, Google Fi is a pretty good carrier. It uses three different carriers and starts at $20, then $10 for each GB you use. Once you use 6GB, everything after that is free so the biggest bill you'll see is $80 (for one person). Coupled with a few other minor perks, I consider it to be a pretty good deal if you don't use a lot of data month to month but still need decent coverage.

Any way to check if your phone is unlocked with the imei number? I think it is locked, but not 100% sure.
