Best Graphics Card for video editing and 1080p gaming?

Hi currently reffitting an old pc of mine that died a while ago and tryna turn it into a mobile editing rig, best value for money?
Specs - i5-4690k, 120gb ssd, 1tb hdd, h87i plus asus motherboard, 700w fsp (700-801UK), can fit up to a 30cm card in it

What video editing software are you going to use?

currently hitfilm express 12 but am looking for more capable software at the moment, mainly transcoding 4k 60fps mp4 down to 1080p 60 fps mp4 and then general editing in 1080p be the kind of work loads

I can only speak for the Adobe CC suite as that is what i personally use and have experience with.

 

Adobe CC HEAVILY favors NVIDIA cards over amd cards. Just take a look at this.

It can also be seen that the performance/dollar drop-off falls heavily after the GTX 1660 Ti. From what i recall, the best value for dollar card for just an adobe editing rig would be a GTX 1060 6GB.

Thanks for the info, anybody got any experience with Vegas Pro as well as that and Adobe are my two main choices?

IIRC Vegas and Adobe won't really favor one over the other.

 

For general compute performance, the 5700 and XT will be comparable to the Vega 56 and 64 respectively, but should have a faster transcode speed. (since the card has new hardware designed for it)
