Hey everyone,

Computer Specs:

MSI B450i Gaming Pro AC

AMD Ryzen 5 2400G

Team Group Delta RGB 2x8GB 3200CL16

Corsair SF450 Gold

WD Blue 500GB m.2. SATA SSD

Silverstone ML05

I'm using it as a HTPC connected to a LG 4k TV. Now that it's not working properly I have my old laptop connected to the TV and it's working fine (as "good" as one would expect 5 year old Ultrabook to perform in 4k resolution). So TV seems to be ok.

I built this little machine early July and it was working perfectly fine since couple of weeks ago when it started to show vertical lines during video playback making any videos unwatchable. It does it on Chrome watching Youtube, on the Windows 10 Netflix App or when watching lokal .mkv files with MPC-HC w/ madVR.

If I disable Hardware Acceleration on Chrome, videos play normally, although 4k playback is now a little stuttery because I think 2400G isn't powerful enoug for that. I don't see this as a viable fix since I still want to use madVR with Hardware Acceleration.

First thing I tried was to install latest drivers for the GPU. I downloaded the latest from AMD website and did "Clean installation" in the Radeon software. When that didn't help, I ran DDU in Safe Mode and wiped the GPU drivers and tried to install them again but still same issue.

I then tried to lower the RAM speed from 3200 to 2400 but that didn't help either. I ran RAM Test (https://www.karhusoftware.com/ramtest/) for >1500% and it didn't find any errors. I also tried to install some Windows Updates that it was offering but it didn't help. I was checking the Update history around the time when the issues started and there was nothing there that would seem suspicious.

Oh right bot CPU and GPU temps have been seemingly ok during all this testing never getting over 65 C (checked from HWiNFO64).

So now I'm officially out of ideas. I think the CPU might be broken somehow? It is so weird that this behaviour just started without any warning signs. It was working fine the night before and then the next morning it's like this.

Anyone got any hot tips?

The past cannot be altered. The present holds but regret and loss. It is only in the days to come that a man may find solace. When memory fades..

I guess no one has any ideas? I've also tried playing game like Overcooked 2 and with quick test, it did NOT seem to have this same issue which is very odd if you ask me.
