This is what happens when you try to do audio production on sub $20 earbuds

So the below video is an audio experiment in vocal resynthesis. It is not designed to be a complete song and probably isn't EQd all that well. However, I wrote the whole thing while wearing some cheap ass earbuds from Walmart, edited it on a crappy little 1.4Ghz 4 core HP, and then uploaded it via tethered iPhone Internet. Basically I did everything possible to make the audio quality of this clip suck as hard as possible. However, I can't really tell how bad it sucks because terrible earbuds are terrible

Now you might be asking yourself why I would go through the trouble of doing this. The answer is simple. The audio is terribly mixed in the below clip because the earbuds I was wearing did not offer the kind of depth required to properly notice the nuances in sound or the frequencies used in the higher or lower end of the mix properly. The same will apply to your gaming or other auditory experiences and it will be awful. I might remake this with better equipment once I finally finish constructing the 8 core monstrosity I'm currently building.

Anyways, have this absolutely terrible piece of audio because I care about how people listen to stuff

I was so creeped out by the song itself that I couldn't notice any deficiencies in the mastering.

Just to play devil's advocate, editing on a PC with a weak CPU and uploading over a janky internet connection isn't going to affect the sound in the slightest, but I get that you were going for a crappy setup from start to finish for the purpose of the experiment.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Just played it on my system. and like @GrockleTD said, uh, interesting.. Definitley missing something.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

What about it did you find creepy if you don't mind my asking?

I just wanted the people to know that-in true LTT fashion-I was using the most jank set-up possible. The weak CPU certainly affected performance, but had no bearing on overall audio quality once the long ass export process was over.

Oh it's missing a lot. This was mostly just me experimenting with vocal resynthesis on a jank ass set up during my flight to kill time. To turn it in to something I would actually release to the world in a professional manner I'd add a few layers of automation, at least 1 lead synth, some more vocal samples, switch up the drum pattern, and give it a proper mix down.

It is certainly interesting, and would be a very nice master/mix if you did it over again properly, not on the "jank" setup :D

I kinda wanna try to mix and master something on my $15 KSC 75s. But first gotta learn to mix and master

You definitley start to notice issues in speaker's and headphone's when you try to produce music on them.

I have made a couple of songswith my dt 990's and 58x's and found it was a great experience. have yet to try that on my budget near field speaker setup.
