If the smartphone you are looking at does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack.. what do you do?

A) Not even consider it

B) We have digital audio players so I will choose to live on the wild side

C) Buy it still knowing i will have to use either bluetooth, an adapter, or a compatible headphone amp or DAC

D) post an actual Poll to the forum since it supports such a feature.

But seriously speaking, to answer your question, A) Not even consider it, unless the manufacturer is going to provide a lifetime warranty on the dongle.

C

Of the three devices I've owned without headphone jacks, absolutely all of them have been worth owning, even without the headphone jack. It really hasn't inconvenienced me even a fraction as much as a lot of consumers seem to imply it might.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I have a pair they sound good. Works great with my PC and my iPhone. Battery life seems to be great.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

For me, it's A.

I might *MAYBE* consider C *ONLY IF* it will let me use my EXISTING legacy headphones (whether they use 1/8", 1/4", XLR, RCA or other plugs) with a free included adapter if necessary, with a long enough warranty so I can pass it on to my great grandchildren after I die (I have no children yet btw), AND it lets me use whatever else might be connected to the USB (or whatever) port (like charging, data transfer, etc.) SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Although ... I'm starting to think it might be a good idea for me to get wireless headphones... my cat loves to chew the wired ones I now have.  I just want something that will be compatible with *ALL* audio devices since (and including) the phonautograph. :P (not to be confused with Thomas Edison's phonograph which I think came out later.)

I wouldn't consider it. I own both wireless and wired headphones, and I like the flexibility of being able to use either one based on whatever situation I find myself in, and don't like being restricted in what I can use. It's kind of like a microSD slot - I might not use it that often but there may be a use case where I need it, and so it's nice to have.

Just like the old adage says, 'I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it'.
