Good Pc Specs having trouble recording on general settings

Specs :

I9-9900k

2080 Gaming Trio

Maximus Hero XI ROG

16 Gb Ram

4 RGB Fans

H150I Pro water cooling

I cant even record on 1920x1080 without the recording lagging out. Im trying to record Apex gameplay and stream goes the same. I tried everything like changing the bitrate and recording on software or gpu but nothing seems to work. If anyone has a fix please lmk. I don't lag when I record or stream at all it's just the recording and stream that's lagging.

What is the drive you are recording to?

Sounds like a possible internet connection issue. Try turning your VPN off if you have one. I know I can't stream with a VPN going in the background. As for the reason for the recording, that one stumps me a little. Check task manager or CPU-Z for possible performance issues while you are trying to record/stream and see if you notice an obvious bottleneck there. As HellWyrm said, if the drive you are recording to is slow, that could cause some issues. I have a 7200 RPM seagate drive and a much older system and I can record/stream without too many issues. You could also change the format you are recording to and see if that makes any difference. Try running a test on your drive and see if the numbers you get are similar to what you should be getting. Reinstalling the recording software might help too.

With weird issues that don't make a lot of sense like this, I tend to just try everything, even if it makes no sense and see what happens. Good luck!

It could also be related to some system damaged file. Execute the following 2 commands in CMD to confirm that the system does not have a corrupt file:

1. CHKDSK

2. sfc /scannow
