Hi all! I will be starting my university course on the 23rd of September and I had previously decided that I wanted to purchase the Surface Book 2 for my studies. My reasons for this being that I like to both write and type however I dislike the bulk that comes with carrying lots of paper and stationary. I am also taking a Computer Science course and so having a relatively capable laptop that isn't built for gaming is something I want from it too. I imagine that the Surface Laptop 3 will be announced early this October and am beginning to have doubts as to whether the Book 2 will be right if I can save money by purchasing the Laptop 3. Should I wait for my course to begin and for reviews to be published for the Laptop 3 or just get the Book 2 before my course starts? Additional must-haves for me are the inclusion of USB-C, touchscreen with stylus/pen support, and some form of biometric authentication be it Windows Hello or a fingerprint scanner. Thanks!

Keep in mind that you'll probably spend a weekend typing up a months worth of notes in order to have everything in one place if you buy the surface 3. I'm not familiar with the hardware requirements for comp sci but if there not ridiculous I would go with the 2 unless you really need thunderbolt which is probaly gonna come with the 3

Edit: That title is sick

Just as an addition to the post; I do own a primary PC which I will be taking too so I could potentially use it for copying down paper notes for a few weeks. I think where I'm really stuck is deciding whether or not I want to do that even for a short while haha.
