Hi,  so this is my current build :

Ryzen 5 3400G

2×8gb 3200mhz ram

B450 Tomahawk mobo

The most demanding games I'll be playing are PUBG and Rust.

Currently I am using the Vega 11 iGPU, and I cant even get 60fps on average on 720p lowest settings in Rust

In PUBG its only playable also at 720p Lowest settings.

I wont be listing my budget because I'll save up a bit longer for something more decent

When playing PUBG and Rust, I want to be playing them at 1080p medium settings at 60fps.

So which GPU should I get for my requirements?

GTX 1060/1660/1660ti if you wanna treat yourself a bit.

And if you really want to treat yourself, hunt the used market for a sub-$230 GTX 1070.

660ti. Get one used for like $20. Use those savings to get a better card in a year or two.

That's a sidegrade, lol, get an rx 570/470 or gtx 970 at the very least

Price to performance scales pretty well from the 570 all the way up to the 5700/5700XT with the 580/590/1660/1660ti in the middle if you really wanna stretch your budget

I gamed on a 660ti until about a month ago and it gave me decent enough performance at 1080p. While the Vega 11 graphics from the APU are nice, if all they want is 720p performance, a $20 used card will give them about a 20-30% increase depending on the title. For under $80 the 760ti or 770 is another fantastic used option that should deliver at low and medium settings in both 720 and 1080p. You can even find some 960 units pretty cheap on ebay.

I don't really recommend used 970 or 980 units though. I remember the bitcoin craze and how no one could buy a 900 unit because all the miners were snatching them up and then OC'ing them until they died for some Internet money. Now if you can buy one from a gamer who is upgrading that can be a good deal, but I've seen enough "I bought this GPU off craigslist/ebay and it won't work" horror stories that I stay away from those models.

Miners bought 900 series? They were that desperate?

Here they didn't touch them, they consume way too much power to be efficient.

Oh yeah, in the early days of Bitcoin when people started figuring out you could GPU mine, people went and grabbed the highest end graphic's cards they could find because the hashes came fast enough since we'd all been CPU mining like chumps before that.

I got the pleasure of working as a repair tech right as the 970 and 980 were hitting the used market and while a lot of them worked, enough of them had been OC'd in to heat death that I've just decided to stay away from those models

Ooooooooo I'd have lost my temper a good bit then. I can't stand people who brutally murder the market for imaginary internet money (they didn't even mine dogecoin, smh) and then don't even have the decency to at least take care of the GPUs properly. It's like smokers, if you wanna smoke please don't throw the butts around everywhere too, have some sort of respect (I live in TN, the amount of people who give 0 shits about flinging cigarettes around is a yikes).

Don't get me wrong, the majority of 970 and 980 models out there are probably working, but it's one of those things where I see it and go "did this come from a gamer who is upgrading or did this thing get used for mining?" It annoys me when people don't take care of things as well (also not mining dogecoin), but that's why we're tech enthusiasts and they're not.

From what I've seen in recent times, the general cost of GPUs have dropped so low that it almost doesn't make sense to go below rx470 level performance. You can get a comparable r9 290 for under $50 and plenty of other cards that are crazy values, if not a little power hungry. I'd only buy from ebay if going used though, they have good buyer protections

I concur.. Go for a second hand RX570/580 or GTX1060. I just bought a second hand RX580 4GB with 18 months of warranty left for 100EUR.

Used high-end GTX 900 series cards like the 970 and 980 are still a good choice, for piece of mind you can also get a refurbished gpu with a warranty and for good bang for the buck keep an eye on EVGA's B stock offers.
