I can't tel you how many times I've read the successful mxm upgrade threads here. Great stuff. Recently my brother gave me his Dell M6800 at no cost.

Needing to upgrade the old gpu in it I've done a lot of searching and reading.

I've seen lots of talk about upgrading the m6800's mxm 3.0b card to like M and P5000 cards. But for the most part it seems the power draw is too high for 1070,1080 on the m6800.

My goal is to get a pascal card in this workstation for encoding, and maxwell cards won't meet my needs.

So live been thinking for a while about a possible upgrade to the P3000. Lower power than a 1060 70 or 80.

Right now the rig has a K3100m mxm 3.0b which does me no good for anything.

Has anyone heard of an M6700, M6800 upgrade to pascal P1000, P2000, P3000 Gpu?

I have good news. I, with only a driver mod, managed to get a quadro p3000 gpu working in an m6800. not only that but with a custom signature i even got games like fortnite  and pubg working. and fortunately it does work with the built in gpu power monitor and display. i have the lvds display and yes it does work with that. i messed up my driver mod so it just displays the hardware id inside of afterburner but in hwinfo it shows as what it is, which is a nvidia quadro p3000. it was about 300$ well spent.
