New build Z390 Aurus Elite - I9 9900K, pottential power issues ?

Changing my PSU to a Corsair RM750 solved the issues I was having ! Bot CPU powerplugs are connected now.

Hi Guys,

I just build a new PC after getting a good deal on a i9-9900K.

After completing the built in went on to test it.

Made sure everything was plugged correctly and pressed the power button. I was soon happy to see all the fans/pump of my CM ML/240 working. I entered the BIOS and everything was recognized. When I went to select my boot drive It showed all drives and had already selected the nvme drive as p1. So I restarted and the system started loading windows.

The issue:

When loading the OS, the loading circle of windows just hangs and the CPU fans start ramping up. And it just stays like this. I thought maybe I need to reinstall OS but when booting to a stick same issue re-appears.

What I tried first was to swap memory modules, still the same issue. The MOBO has a 4x2 and 2x2 power connector for the CPU my CM G650 psu only has the 4x2 but that should by fine as long as you don't oc.  But yet I thought maybe the psu can't provide enough power so I removed my Strix Vega 64 and the system booted. Have been running Prime95 and all is good. Quite high temperatures tho ?...

So the GPU is not broken and it is not letting the system boot up. Do I need a more beefy PSU ? Do I just need the 2x2 ?(maybe some adapter ?) Or do you think the PCI-E Lane is broken on the Mobo ?

If this is an R0 stepping CPU, you need to flash the bios to the newest version.  Older bioses that only support P0 will boot to bios (allowing you to upgrade) but cannot load windows.

I have the latest BIOS installed. Did not help :/ Going to buy a stronger PSU will report back the results.
