(MALAYSIA) Laptop for CAD, 3D modeling and Gaming

Hi from Malaysia, a new comer. Would need a solid recommendation for a laptop with these requirements:

1) (PRIMARY) can run 3D modeling software like Autodesk Inventor smoothly

2) Can run simulations like ANSYS relativly smoothly.

3) Can play games like LoL, OSU!, CnC games.

4) (PRIMARY) Best Price to performance ratio, Maybe around RM2.5k.

That's a pretty tight budget. Can you fit a ThinkPad/EliteBook/Latitude?

 

If not, look at an HP ProBook or Dell Vostro with a quad-core i5/i7 and an MX150 or a Ryzen 5/7

How much is the 3 recommendations that you just gave? And does it have Ethernet port, need to connect to servers.

I have no idea what you have available in your country - that's why I gave you some business series to check. Look at pricing at your local etailers and retailers and come back with information

Well, whats's the specks of the 3 laptops regarding price, I'm new to this and im not sure what's the specks difference. Like the CPU difference, what does a CPU heavy program like 3D modeling software needs. And the GPU model, how does it differ form model to model?

For specs, look at an i5 8250U or 8265U OR a Ryzen 5 2500U/3500U.

 

That's your primary goal.
