So a few months back i needed to upgrade my pc to run oculus since they blocked the SSE 4.2 bypass which was needed for my old intel Q6600. i upgraded to a Dell i5 3570s build since it is miles better than my old one and could run VR all be it at low settings, now however i want to be able to run VR a bit more smoothly and wanted to overclock. i tried finding ways of overclocking a non-K cpu and had no luck, not with my cpu anyway. ive decided i want to get a K based cpu but im not sure if it will work with my motherboard since its a Dell motherboard and im not sure if i can even upgrade the CPU, ive been looking at the I7 3770k and the I5 3570k as an upgrade and was planning to use intel extreme tuning utility for the overclock, can anyone tell me if theses cpu's will work with the BIOS.

Motherboard: Dell Vostro 270s (0XFWHV) with A13 Bios

Thanks

That's not a suitable mobo for overclocking. For one, it has no VRM-cooling at all, none. Secondly, it has the bare minimum VRM to begin with in order to run basic, non-OC CPUs. Do not even think of trying to run power-hungry CPUs on it, let alone overclocking one.

Sorry, probably should have made it clear that ive upgraded it already on the cooling and power side, ive got a new case with plenty of case fans with one high speed fan on an angle mount facing the VRM, will upgrade the CPU cooler with a new CPU, im not too worried about the lack of VRM cooling since my old pc was much older and had no VRM cooling at all and ran fine overclocked from 2.4 to 3.1 ghz.
