Here's the story

My graphics card died about 3 months ago. My computer was just sitting at the desktop while I ran to the bathroom and when I came back the screen was black. I restarted the computer and as it was booting back up the VGA motherboard light lit up and there was no display output. I tried rebooting a couple times but the motherboard showed the same error light (no video card detected). I talked with MSI's tech support team and was able to send the graphics card to their RMA department to be fixed. Whatever they did worked for a little while and when I got the card back everything worked for about 2 weeks. Then I got the same problem. I was in the middle of playing minecraft when the screen went black and when I rebooted the computer the VGA motherboard light lit up and there was no display output. I sent my card back to the RMA department and it has now been fixed but I am worried there is a problem with my computer that is causing the graphics card to fail. Does anyone know what could be causing that kind of failure? I have tried asking MSI what was broken when I sent it in but they don't release that information.

Solutions/troubleshooting I've tried:

  1. Graphics card in different mb slot (when it was not working): No display output
  2. Different Graphics Card (when it was not working): Everything worked
  3. Graphics Card in different PC (when it was not working): No display output
  4. Updated windows and motherboard bios
  5. Used a multimeter to test the voltage of the power supply: All output was normal from what I could tell.

Thanks in advance for your help!
