I bought it brand new and I cant install a partition for win 10. I cant plug it into another computer atm. Is there any way to tell if its broken or not other than plugging it into a computer? I hear it spinning just fine with no clicks or anything that sounds weird. Is there any way I can run some sort of scan without having an OS installed on the computer to tell if its broken or not?

Could try connecting it to another Sata Port on the mainboard/ with another Sata Cable.
Dou you get to the screen where you can format the drive? Maybe this works too.
