Xbox 360 controller not working on windows 10

So i bought this xbox 360 controller and lead off of facebook, i've plugged it and windows 10 makes the usb connect sound, the green lights around the xbox logo are flashing, it shows up in devices on my computer but it's not installing drivers, therefore no games are recognising it, also there appears to be a small light on the actuall lead itself (on the plug, just above the xbox logo) which flashes when i plug it in then it goes off, any clues as to what the issue is?

That's the Play and Charge Kit, right? I believe you need another connector (a wireless dongle) to connect it to a computer. The cable in the kit only connects the battery to the USB power source, from what I understand.

In other words, you would need either a wired Xbox 360 controller, or a Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver in order to use this controller.
