Custom refresh rate issues with monitor

I have a Viotek 1440p 100hz ultrawide monitor. I play my games in 16:9 for when i stream or record youtube videos. I can overclock every other monitor on my pc, but with my ultrawide if I try anything above 100hz it says the correct refresh rate except it is visibly displaying only 60hz. I am using nvidia control panel to change the settings. Is there any way to fix this?

Intel Core I7 6700k (clocked to 4.6ghz)

Patriot Viper 3000mhz ddr4

ASUS maximus 8 hero (I hate this mobo)

Evga gtx 1080 superclocked

250GB Samsung 850 evo

2tb WD Black 7200rpm

Ek watercooling kit a240g with 360 expansion pack

Primochill Vue Red fluid

Corsair Graphite 600t (white)

Never mind i suppose you are referring to Custom Resolution Utility?
