First off, new to the forum but have been subscribed to the YT channel for years and frequently ghosted the forum for said time. Apologies first off if I mis-tagged this thread or something?

TLDR-X99 Gaming Pro Carbon doesn't have the regular "H" style header, it has a USB Type-C on the motherboard. How would one go about connecting a front panel connector to it?

The X99 Gaming Pro Carbon has been one of those motherboards that have dropped significantly in price since Ryzen came out and changed core counts on mainstream platforms. If one were to plan on getting a few of these for family members it could be a pretty good machine that would last sometime since the supported CPU's are fairly close to 1st gen Ryzen. I was looking into it at least when I noticed that the USB Type-C header on the mother boards are Type-C themselves??? So, after looking for roughly 2 hours for anything on this, I decided it was finally time to double down and make the forum account, and thus RoboPirateNinja was born....

Really though, does anyone have an idea about how to fix this?

edited to fix title ❤️

Hmm... Well, looks like this might be a bit problem. After a little research, I think I know a reason for this...

The internal USB-C connector was design like this is because some case (a little older one) which outright use a USB-C M-F cable to mount at the front of the case (I remember seeing some Chinese cheap cases only provide a hole, where you have to buy the cable and install it yourself). And because not many case at that time has USB-C at the front panel, you have to DIY the front panel yourself by using a USB-C M-F extender cable and some drilling.

To fix this, you can consider this cable: https://www.amazon.com/RIITOP-Extender-Extension-Nintendo-Macbook/dp/B01LI2X4ME

Then, you may need to make a tiny hole on your case for the socket. put some super glue so the socket is in place.

(I know this sound stupid. However, this is what I can think of right now)

I apologies if my comments or post offends you in any way, or if my rage got a little too far. I'll try my best to make my post as non-offensive as much as possible.
