Looking for build advice. Thanks :)

mutazoid

I upgraded systems in the past but never built one from scratch so am I missing anything?

Any part do you recommend to be changed?

Im not trying to make a super powerful PC.

The most powerful game I play rocket league otherwise Im not a gamer other than board games on websites ;)

Should I buy exhaust fan?

I have also 2 SATA drives (1 SSD 2.5" and 1 HDD 3.5")

Thanks for any tips

Go for a better PSU if you want it to last long.

Also, i've heard that your motherboard isn't the best so maybe look for a better mobo too.

-Motherboard is fine - 2400g won't stress it to its limits

-Better power supply is recommended(visit psu tier list to determine psu quality)

-high speed ram(3000mhz and higher) is almost a necessity with ryzen, especially the APUs

-no need for such a case, there are cheaper options with much better airflow

No real need for more case fans considering you're just running a 3400G, but you can add a couple cheap 120mm fans if you want.

Should I expect the CPU to have thermal paste already applied?

thanks thats what I would expect.

Im thinking about getting the 3400G cpu.

Should I be worried about the BIOS warning or will that be an upgrade I can apply without an full OS?

@Vexicus Thanks for the budget option but the CPU is important to me also, just not a gaming rig.

I feel like a Ryzen 3 is too low and the reducing the ram isnt a bad option for what I do but Ill probably stick with 16 just cause its cheap and its always good to have more ram

AFAIK only certain b450 motherboards allow for BIOS update without CPU installed. If I'm not wrong all MSI motherboards support it

Basically you update the BIOS without a CPU installed

2200g is on par with 2400g in gaming if you add in a discrete gpu. Because currently most games utilize 4 cores at Max.

Also you can go with the r3 1200 + rx570 build that I have mentioned above. It'll blow away the igpu of 3400g.

maybe 4 years ago sure, definitely not now.

extra 4 threads help significantly unless you're playing older titles that don't need many cores. I wouldn't recommend the 1200, maybe 2200g in place of it will be fine

Also, quite certain the video you linked is from a channel that's completely bullshit. I'd stick with reviews from reputable sources or one that at least shows gameplay with the hardware being tested

@mutazoidMy bad, didn't know this motherboard didn't support bios flashback. You'd lose a few % of performance with a 2400G(cheaper though) but it should be 100% compatible
