Is this a good score?

This was done on heaven benchmark 4.0 with the quality at ultra. Nothing else running in the background but discord. Gpu usage was 99% cpu was not nearly that high. Specs: gtx 1070 oc, ryzen 5 2600, 8gb 3200mhz ram, msi b350 mate, 650 Corsair pcu. Also have 1tb disk drive and 480 gb ssd.

It is hard to say since most people run the bench with tessellation set to extreme.

Ok I had tessellation on extreme this time. How does the score look?

It looks above average for your CPU.

 

If you run MSI Afterburner at the same time you will notice that Heaven does not use many cores.

Hmm I feel like when I game my graphics card underperforms. For instance if I play fortnite on max settings I get up to 110 frames but it always seems to drop to 40 for some reason and it’s not just fortnite that my frames seem to drop it’s any game if I have it on high settings. Also my gpu usage gets to 100% and i don’t understand how it’s working so hard and not keeping me at a stable frame rate. It’s really annoying.

I have found over the years that the more powerful the individual cores are the less severe the drops. That is why I use 5ghz CPUs.

You have a relatively cheap upgrade path to a R5 3600x or a R7 3700x. I think that upgrade may solve most of your problems.

Can I fit a R7 3700 in my b350 motherboard?

I don't own Ryzen so I don't know.

There are plenty of people here that do so hopefully someone will replay.
