Windows 8 Upgrade from 32bit to 64bit?

Is it possible to upgrade from a windows 7 32bit to windows 8 64bit?

That requires a clean install, however if you don't format your drive, all your data will be placed in a Windows.old folder in the root of your drive. I'd still recommend keeping a backup just in case something goes bad.

Just did it, so it is posible you just need to boot from the upgrade dvd and don't upgrade per windows explorer. I reinstalled windows 7 anyways so I don't care about the windos.old folder. Just bought the upgrade because its cheaper ;)
