Recommended CPU for RX 580?

At what price point? but in general any Ryzen 5.

It destroys it on the regards of value proposition.

Intel nowadays only makes sense if you're buying the i9 9900K, anything lesser and AMD has far better value for money.

The R5 3600 is pretty much on par with an i7-8700K for $150 less.

I don't know the options of the OP, but, I'd even consider 2600. Here, it costs ~ 120€, whereas the 3600 is ~ 205-200€. And the 2600 is still very capable CPU. With an RX580, there would not be too much performance difference in terms of FPS while gaming.

 

But 3600 is definitely a superior product! Just for cost-consciousness, the 2600 is very reasonable right now.

Life is really challenging. I don't always suceed: )

The 2600 is still a great option however the single core/gaming performance of the 3600 is much improved over the 2600. I've tested both and the 3600 makes quite the difference it's definitely worth the extra money. It depends on OP's budget but if it were me I'd go for the 3600 even if it meant spending a little extra.
