Posted August 28, 2019 I upgraded my GPU to RX 5700 and uninstalled old drivers using DDU. Benhcmarks give me around 25-30% better scores than on my old GTX 1070 which is a nice upgrade. However I get annoying stuttering in Far Cry 5 even though freesync is enabled. My CPU usage spikes up to 100% which results in FPS drops. I understand that faster GPU utilizes CPU harder but I didn't have any FPS drops on my old GPU. Average framerate is much higher now though. Any help? Max. GPU temp is 70C with a quiet fan profile. On my GTX 1070 I didn't really drop under 60FPS but now I have FPS drops which result to minimum 30FPS. 4,9Ghz 6-core i5 should be able to push faster than that. What does locking the framerate with Vsync do? If it still drops, then its driver related. If it doesnt, then its likely to be CPU related. I have 144Hz Freesync monitor and I tried both Vsync on and off. I could try 60Hz and Vsync. 1 hour ago, 191x7 said: Is that with the latest AMD graphics drivers (19.8.1 or 19.8.2)? CPU temperatures? I got this GPU yesterday so I think I got the latest drivers installed. CPU temperature fluctuates between 60-70C while playing Far Cry 5. 15 minutes ago, xAcid9 said: Try cap the frame rate slight lower than your average. I could try it. However it's not easy since day is much more demanding than night when I usually get stable 144FPS so framerate fluctuates a lot. I thought my Windows 10 was up to date but there was actually a big update and I installed it. I could wipe the drivers using DDU and download again to see if it helps.
