I am using a 3900x at stock settings and using the cooler it came with, with PBO set to auto.  While I haven't had any issues with temps or fan noise. (Motherboard is X370 Taichi)

What I wanted to ask if there was any other 3900x users that overclocked their CPU on the stock cooler or even after market, and if so what speed you settled for, or is it not even worth overclocking?

Last does anybody know if the ability to use 4 memory sticks at rated speed been fixed?  I currently have 32 GB of Corsair 3000mhz(2x16) and had thought about bumping it up to 64 GB while memory was somewhat still cheap.

Thanks

That motherboard features T topology, enabling it to handle 4 memory dimms at rated speeds better. You should be able to have 64GB at 3000MHz.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

unless you are going the full mile of overclocking the entire chip, then its not worth it.

the memmory controller is much better than it was, but dont go expecting 4 high capacity dimms to run at rated speed. tho it will probably work fine.

I'm running my 3900X at 4400Mhz all cores at 1.3375v, via manual OC in Ryzen Master under Profile 2, my RAM is set at 3200Mhz as well. Idle temp's 34C....'ish. I'm using a Thermaltake Water 3.0 360 AIO ina CoolerMaster H500M case, pretty happy with what I see, though I can't net great framerate at higher res (3440x1440) since I'm using a PowerOlor RX VEGA64 Red Devil and not an RTX 2080 Ti. I'm waiting for big NAVI 23.......next year
