A little bit ago, I went through the process of troubleshooting an HP Laptop. Returned, bought a Lenovo Yoga C930. Amazed with it, but I had one large question to all of those who have 2-in-1 folding laptops; When in tablet mode and setting down your laptop, do you feel at ease knowing the keyboard may be resting on a hard surface? Or, might be snagged on something?

I personally love 2-in-1's for multimedia purposes, and just overall availability of choices. I do have a Surface Book 2, but I still prefer the Lenovo Yoga C930. Though, that thought about how the keyboard is downward-facing when put onto a desk is kind of eck.

Just wanting to hear others' opinions and maybe even get some photos of what a keyboard may look like after being used as a tablet on hard surfaces for a while?

The build on the C930 is amazing, but, I'm sure over time it'll wear down- or get scratched in some way. Despite having a case- I do use the 2-in-1 function quite often.

Its not exactly ideal, but the keyboard is also on a flat surface when closed, the glass of the screen.  So you just have to assume it can handle it.

If you know you are going to use it like that a lot, you can always get one of those giant mats (same material as mouse mats) to put underneath.

I didn't use mine much on a table much so can't really say how it would hold up, but I never felt uncomfortable with the keyboard sat on my lap.  The keys do not snag on my legs or anything and are disabled when in that position.

My Yoga 2 (from late 2014, I think it was) still works fine. It's been chucked around, thrown in normal backpacks with other stuff, stood on, sat on, jammed in to overhead lockers probably 10-20 times etc. The outside is scratched (not surprised with what I throw in the backpack with it when it goes in there) but the inside is still perfect and the laptop in general still works just fine. I've repasted it and replaced the hybrid drive it came with, with a standard ssd too, boots in maybe 10 seconds, if that.
