Please appraise my first build (looking to build this very soon)

Hi, this is what I came up with after countless hours of research into looks, compatibility, build tutorials, part reviews, playing around in PCpartpicker, etc...
I'd like to get some opinions on it. Although I did do a lot of research for this first build, I'm actually loosely following JayzTwoCents "2019 budget PC build" video with this.
Also the RX580 is used(like new), that's why it's so cheap.

I would change your ram to G.skill FlareX, as it's specifically deigned for AMD Ryzen. Also, even though it wouldn't be M.2, getting a bigger SATA SSD can be done for the same price. 250gb goes away quickly.

AMD Ryzen 5900X

T-Force Vulcan Z 3200mhz 2x32GB

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

-Is the flarex that much better to warrant spending 30 dollars more on it?

-I think I'll be fine for a whole while withe the 250GB, I have an ext HDD for pictures and films etc.and I don't plan to play games that take up a lot of space.

I will use this primarily for gaming btw

If you look around, you can get 2x8gb of FlareX 3200 for maybe a few dollars more. It won't be any faster, but it might be easier to get the XMP profile going and get it to the rated speed.

970 evo is completely unnecessary for a gaming rig, get a 500GB sabrent rocket instead.

Nothing wrong with the Ram you selected.

That won't be any better than what he has. If it was a CL14 kit then sure. That is just a regular CL16 kit so I doubt it is Samsung B die.

hm thx for this little discourse.

I think I'll use your advice and get a sabrent rocket 512GB. they seem stable enough and the price is a lot better than the samsung evo...

On another note:

the thing with the ram made me curious so in another research session, I learned that there are differences in build quality of g.skill ripjaws and you can't tell if it's a samsung d-die, e-die or a hynix chip inside until you use it... and everybody seems to hate hynix chips.

idk is this relevant or can I ignore it?

CL14 kits seem too expensive for the little bit of extra...something they provide tbh

They were more relevant for Ryzen 1xxx and 2xxx as it was a bit more fussy with Ram. The 3xxx series seems a lot better in that regard.

I would have a 2600, so ... it matters for me?

You are looking at an extra $30 - $40 for a Samsung B die kit.

These two kits are both B die for example:

The 3200MHz kit you have will hopefully run at that speed as there have been AGESA updates over time. The worst case is it runs at 2933MHz but you can always mess about overclocking it if you wanted with Ryzen dram calculator and thaiphoon burner.

thx for leading me down that particular rabbit hole. ram is a lot more complicated than I thought haha. but it was very interesting nonetheless

I'm also asking so much about ram because the model I originally had was really nice in terms of price/value but it's not in stock where it was so cheap so it's not an option anymore. I do not want to spend more than 100€ for ram if I can help it tbh.

what do you think of this one?

Like, idk I just want to have a reliable build that lasts me a few years by itself without anything really holding other parts back. I'm really torn between these c14/15/16 and 3200/3000 now.

Another piece of maybe important info is that I probably won't be doing a lot of upgrading on this. Or at least I'm not planning to.

After a few weeks maybe, if I really am unhappy with the performance, I'll pop in a cpu cooler, overclock the build a little. But that should be it. This is all that I need. (At least from today's POV)

@IEatLouis

I would say try the Corsair if that is in your price range and don't fuss too much over the CAS rating. A 3000MHz CL15 like the Corsair is ok imo.

If you like tinkering you can try doing some overclocking on the Ram. The Ryzen DRAM calculator makes it a lot easier.

Thank you very much for your kind advice! it helped a lot and I learned more about PC parts again :)

this is what I ended up ordering and paying now.

Curiously, my seagate backup plus seems to have become a warranty case today. Literally on the same day I order the parts for my first build lol

WOW! What a luck you have! To check your warranty status you can use the following link and the serial number:
