Is there disadvantage of buying intel f series processor.

you dont get an integrated GPU. you loose quicksync. you loose its value in adobe workloads.

And also the lack of hyperthreading which means stuttering in some select games, and especially in future games. That's the big disadvantage of the i5's and i3's. And that's why the 3600 the best choice for budget buyers around the $200 price point.

 

If you can't afford that, then a 2600 for around $130 is a very solid option. It may not win the gaming battle on paper with the 9400f, but it will last longer as it has 12 threads whereas as I said above, the 9400f lacks hyperthreading meaning it only has 6 threads. That's why both the 2600 and 3600 are stronger options than the 9400f, not forgetting the lack of an upgrade path with the 9400f too.

Not doing research so this is mostly pulled out of the back of my head, im pretty sure there's no iGPU (for some tasks that's okay) and no hyper threading (Idk on this one im just pretty sure). Mostly depends if your doing content creation, gaming, or whatever.
