GSP 550 Surround channel not working but the communications channel works fine on this hub.

Removing the hub fixes it but it bugs me on why the communication channel works fine but the surround channel doesn't work or sounds extremely robotic (like 4kbit aac robotic). My setup before was headset - monitor hub - corsair keyboard -motherboard. Setup where the surround sounds robotic goes with headset - monitor hub - usb c hub - gpu. Setup with no surround sound at all goes from headset - usbc hub - gpu. Long story on why I want this to work even if plugging it directly into the pc works. TLDR - Using the pc closet trick but no wall hole.
