Sometimes I see a brand and I see a brand and for some reason subconsciously I place them in the same place.

a lot with ASUS and Corsair a lot of the time i see asus and I think ‘on that will work with Corsair icue’ and then I’m like ‘wtf did I just think am I ok’. I associate ASUS and Corsair as being similar brands for some reason.

i think Razer and msi a bit aswell idk why less than Corsair and ASUS tho.

anyone else?

im just weird ok pretend you didn’t read this go away

I kinda get what you mean. It happens a lot with brands that work closely. Like with the ASUS Corsair thing, a lot of people will use ASUS MOBOs and GPUs then use Corsair Cases, PSUs, AIOs etc.

I guess I think I do it with the likes of Apple and Intel. Like if someone mentions a macbook I'll immediately think "okay so there's a thermal throttling intel cpu in that" or something similar.

I do it with car brands as well. Like if you mention a Ford car, I immediately think of the comparable Vauxhall (Opel in Europe) because my family have driven Vauxhalls more often and I drive a Vauxhall Astra when I'm at home

I don't really do this exactly, but sometimes I'll see a brand and think about the parent company and go "oh, product A and product C are different brands under the same company". That can either make it more difficult to choose a product, or make it easier. All depends on the situation.

I associate Asus and ASRock mostly because ASRock was a former subsidiary of Asus and so naturally ASRock product naturally have that 'Asus design' if that makes sense? For example, ASRock's UEFI/BIOS looks extremely similar to Asus.

As someone else mentioned, I do it with car brands. I work on cars for a living so if I see a Cadillac Escalade roll up I think instantly that I am working on a Chevy truck, because when it comes to the electrical side, which is what I deal with, its the same damn thing. Ford and Lincoln are the same idea, Toyota and Lexus, Honda and Acura etc etc.
