Ryzen 5 vs Ryzen 7 (Lenovo Flex 14)

Hey all, I'm thinking about getting the Lenovo Flex 14 with a Ryzen processor so I can do some light gaming, editing, etc. I'm stuck between choosing the Ryzen 5 3500u or the Ryzen 7 3700u option. Most websites are saying they perform about the same, with the Ryzen 5 being a bit faster in the graphics department, despite the iGPU having fewer CUs and running 300Mhz slower. Is the R7 worth the extra $150?
 
Note: I plan on upgrading the laptop to have 16 gigs of ram and a 500gb ssd regardless of which option I end up purchasing. Is there any chance the R7 will benefit more from the upgrades or?
