How do I know my GPU is broken?

Hi Everyone,

 

I'm currently experiencing some difficulties with my GPU, as it wont get detected by the system. 

I've tried to run several troubleshooting tools through both Windows 10 and the Bios, but nothing seems to work.

My GPU doesn't show on the Windows task manager, and it says that there is a problem with the GPU in the device manager.

 

Is this simply just the symptoms of a dead graphics card, or is there something I could do to fix it?

 

...and if it is actually broken, what budget gpu would you recommend me buying? (This is the motherboard I've got: https://www.asus.com/dk/Motherboards/P8Z77V_PRO/specifications/)

maybe it cant detect gpu coz no chipset driver installed

Z77 is the oldest chipset W10 recognizes out of box in all versions.

recognized and runnign stable is 2 different things, try install chipset driver then install gpu,    with my new rig ryzen 3600 and 5700xt, if i dont install my gpu driver before chipset driver i get bsod and have to re format,   u maybe just ned the chipset btw ( in my case if i install chipset my gpu isnt recognized anymore, unless i install it before )

windows automatically downloads chipset updates, thats why I specifically said, Z77 is the oldest chipset that W10 supports. Plus I have been uzing W10 on my Z77 system since it came out and not a single issue related to chipset/chipset drivers, its all managed by windows itself.

so uninstall and install again theres a high chance its just bugged

You cant uninstall them, let alone get "newer" versions from intel.

Alright, thank you so much for your replies.

 

So just to be sure, the problem should be solved, if I uninstall the latest gpu driver, then install the latest chipset drivers and gpu drivers?

Dont bother with chipset drivers, all you will achieve is higher chance of issues. What is the actual error device manager puts out?

If I go to properties for the GTX 670 in device manager, it just says this: Device status: Windows has stopped the device, as it has reported an error (code 43)

When I try to update the driver for the GPU through device manager, it just says that it is already up to date.

And when I try to troubleshoot the error through hardware troubleshooting in the "update and security" settings tab in Windows 10, it just cant detect the actual issue.
